Clancy the Clown began evolving after I met Patch Addams at a workshop in 1991. After being inspired by this extremely zealous and zany doctor, I returned home and called every talent agency, clown, magician, mime, juggler, and children's entertainer I could find. I took every class and workshop that was available. It became apparent that I was going in exactly the right direction when the people of many talents in Cascade Clown Alley took me under their wing. They helped Clancy appear from the clown within me. I took another workshop with Patch in 1995. Victoria Millard (Grizelda le Fou), Bruce Johnson (Charlie the Juggling Clown), Buttons & Homer (who are Ringling alumni) all added to the performance skill and character creation of Clancy the Clown. Today Clancy is a gentleman tramp who, with the help of the kids is able to perform in an array of comical prestidigitation woven with clowning learned from his marvelous mentors. He has also served as master of ceremonies at business and special events like Winterfest at the Seattle Center. Special performance themes can be accommodated when we put our creative heads together. |
